Elementary Classroom Spotlight
Through creative celebrations and real-life experiences, our teachers and students are demonstrating that education is enriched in countless ways and places.
• In Mrs. Doyle's 3rd and 4th grade classes, a Fall Writing Celebration, turned students’ writing into a true showcase! As parents and teachers walked through her classroom, they read heartfelt stories from each student while sipping hot cider and leaving kind words of encouragement. A cozy fireplace and cookies made it even sweeter!
• In Mrs. Pirtle's 5th and 6th grade classes, history came to life with Autobiographies in Character as students became Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, and more to share their research and facts about each person in history. Costumes + creativity = unforgettable learning!
• Ms. Durham's 5th graders went into “Michelangelo mode” as they explored the Renaissance by sketching under their desks, transforming into ceiling artists just like in the Sistine Chapel!
• Meanwhile, Ms. Hill's students celebrated the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the most creative way possible—engineering their own parade balloons! With help from 5th and 6th graders, younger students designed and flew their masterpieces in a virtual parade, thanks to green-screen magic that took us straight to NYC!
Check out these Eagles blending writing, history, art, and STEM for unforgettable learning moments. Great job, students!
