Lubbock Christian School Named #1 Private School in Texas for Second Consecutive Year

Lubbock Christian High School has been honored as the most outstanding 3A private school in Texas for the second consecutive year. Ranked first out of 40 schools in their classification, Lubbock Christian received the prestigious Henderson Cup from the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) for the 2023-2024 school year. This elite trophy is awarded to the school that accumulates the most points through excellence in athletics, academics, and fine arts competitions.

“Inspired by Hebrews 12:1, which says, '... Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,' we recognize that receiving this prestigious award for two consecutive years is a testament to the relentless hard work and dedication of our students and educators,” said Hutch Haley, LCS President. "This honor reflects their commitment to excellence and pursuit of something greater. LCS is proud to lead the way for the state, and we're determined to maintain this momentum. Let's keep soaring, Eagles!"

According to TAPPS, each year they recognize an overall champion in each of the classifications, 1A through 6A. The champion is determined by the points each school earns in the TAPPS Championships held throughout the school year, and a cup is presented to the school for display during the year, along with a plaque to commemorate the school’s success.

“Winning back-to-back Henderson Cup championships is a great accomplishment, but it is the investment in our students that will make the biggest impact on this world,” said Chris Softley, LCS Athletic Director. “Here at Lubbock Christian School, we strive to be authentically gospelcentered on the field, in the classroom, and in the community, and our success in all these areas is simply a by-product of faithfulness to that worthy pursuit. This award is another reminder of the special place that is Lubbock Christian School. It is a great time to be an Eagle!”
