September 2024 Staff Spotlight

Julie Foster, LCS Elementary Principal

Q: Tell us about the achievements in your school and within the programs.
A: “Growth for me is our highest achievement. God has blessed the elementary school with an incredible staff. When I came three years ago, the elementary building had eight empty classrooms, and now there are none! This year, we had to reconfigure a conference room into a new classroom to accommodate the student enrollment growth!”
Q: What drives your students' overall success?
A: “The teachers and the time they put in each student. These teachers go the extra mile for our students every single day.”
Q: In your own words, what sets LCS apart from other learning institutions?
A: “LCS is set apart from other learning institutions because students are given every opportunity in all areas – academics, fine arts, and athletics. These opportunities allow students to be well-rounded and have a lot of experiences that students would not get anywhere else. All students can lead and are noticed.”
Q: For those not a part of the LCS community yet, what are they missing?
A: “A community of people who believe in the students they serve. A place where we hold students to high expectations, and teach them work ethic, responsibility, organization, and how to be successful in the future.”
Q: What final thoughts do you have about LCS, your students, or your calling to serve here?
A: “I came to LCS not knowing anyone in Lubbock. I came not knowing anyone at the school. I came because I felt called by God to be a part of the school. Once I got here, I never regretted that decision. The families, faculty, staff, and community have been wonderful. LCS is not just a school; we are a family!”
