Lubbock Christian School offers a variety of Fine Arts opportunities. Our band and choir programs have recently received State honors. Other school activities include art, science fair, twirling, drum majors, flag corps, One-Act Play, student senate, academic meet, journalism, and yearbook staff.
Our program helps young musicians to make great music, enjoy music, and understand the importance of music in our society. Our students participate in solos, ensembles, jazz band, and concert band. The marching band performs at school pep rallies and football games, but they also serve the community with our flag route in the neighborhood around LCS.
The high school band has traveled to Orlando to participate in a mass halftime show at the first-ever Champs Bowl. They have also performed in the Macy’s Parades in Universal Studios and various parades and recording sessions at Disney World.
Our bands are involved with many local and Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) sponsored contests. Our students are able to audition for Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) or Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) all-region band, jazz all-state band, and Top of the Nation Honor Band. Our Jr. High students make up a large percentage of the all-region band every year.
